Designing Wedding Flowers

Weddings are one of the most beautiful and exciting events in anyone’s lifetime. On this glorious day, flowers make everything look that much more beautiful. In many weddings, it seems that almost everyone has a flower. For women, there are corsages; men display boutonnieres, and of course, the bride carries her wedding bouquet. In addition, flowers and other greenery can be used in a variety of places as decorations. If you are a beginning florist or are trying to save money by doing this yourself, the task may seem a bit daunting-and like any daunting task, it is best tackled in phases.

As you decide what the overall style of the wedding will be, think about the color, then the types of flowers to be used, followed by possible designs for arrangements. The color is usually a very simple decision as the bride will already be choosing the color or colors for the wedding. As for the flower choice, roses are the standard choice for weddings, but you should check with the bride or mother of bride to get recommendations. The last phase is the arrangement style. Here, the possibilities seem endless, but sticking with one or two styles enhances the harmony and beauty of all the flower arrangements. Breaking up the job of arranging wedding flowers into these steps will simplify your task immensely.

Customizing Your Flower Designs

When you design with flowers, one of your objectives is to make the arrangement work with the space it belongs to. Flower arrangements should be designed based on their purpose. With funereal flower arrangements, pick flowers with muted colors but beautiful and simple appearance, such as tulips and daisies. Casual flower arrangements with fun inclusions, like silk grass, can be great for a housewarming gift or neighborly gesture. If you would like something more traditional or amorous, roses are a natural choice. For the perfect flower arrangement, always remember who the flower arrangement is for.

If you are aware of their favorite or least favorite flowers, colors, and overall styles, incorporate the ones they like best into your design. Remember that practice makes perfect, so keep on trying. This is an advantage of using artificial flowers: it is easy to pull out what you do not like and add something else without risking injury to one of the flowers.

Silk Orchids

Orchids are one of the most dominant species of flowers. Because the natural orchid flowers have so many distinct variations, their silk counterparts are also as numerous. All orchids are known for their beautiful leaf pattern, which is semi-symmetrical in appearance. With orchids, all of the petals and the flower’s center are exposed. They incorporate stunning combinations of colors and employ a semi-symmetrical design, like their leaves. Flower arrangements including orchids should display that flower as the dominant one in the display. Many common arrangements have orchids flowing over the basket or vase, standing tall in the center, or surrounded by other greenery. Orchids most commonly employ two to three strong, bright, contrasting colors (such as white and purple or yellow, orange, and black). However, among the 100,000+ varieties available, there are orchids in just about every shade imaginable. Universality is another trait of these flowers: they can be used to decorate homes regardless of the season.
