More about cosmetic

cosmetics.jpgThats Important for woment to choose cosmetics. Cosmetics and make up products are increasingly becoming more “nature based”. With people fast realizing that it is not only the safest but also the surest way of looking and staying young, mineral cosmetics are fast taking over their chemical counterparts. Now although it is not being claimed that mineral cosmetics are 100% organic, for they do contain some natural oxides like that of iron and titanium which are thoroughly treated in the labs before being used in the products, but they definitely are a safer option which can be used even on allergic and sensitive skin. More importantly, what is necessary is the skin under our “make up” is beautiful and supple. And when it comes to mother nature you bet- there is NO dearth of herbs, stems, flowers she can provide us with for the best and of course the cheapest(almost every time) procedure to gain.

Consider aloe Vera, known widely for medicinal properties, is extensively used in soaps, shampoos, moisturizers, lotions and sunscreens. Aloe gel cures and soothes dry skin around the eyes and sensitive facial skin around it. Jojoba (pronounced ho-ho-ba) used mostly for its wax or oil, serves as a good base in moisturizers. Its oil which is rare (and therefore expensive) is similar to whale oil and is used in designer fragrances. Flowering plant lavender’s essential oils are highly effective and used mostly in balms, and perfumes.

A dilution of one part of lavender oil with ten water or rose water cures acne and is used in the treatment of skin burns. Freesia, native to Africa, grown mainly for their strong scented flowers are used in shampoos and hand creams. Vanilla, whose essential oils are utilized extensively in aromatherapy for that satin-smooth skin is also, used in numerous hair care products. Sandalwood has always been known in the Indian subcontinent for its antiseptic and antimicrobial properties. Sandalwood oil, used again in the aromatherapy and in preparation of soaps, effectively cleanses (after dilution) the skin of blackheads and spots. And then there is this all time favorite rosewater-which your grandmother always prescribed- known to be the best home made facial cleanser and moisturizer. Its uses are varied- from being used in face masks and bathing water- to the treatment of acne and skin irritation. Rosewater is effective on wrinkles and helps keeping up the vitality of the skin. Appling it directly on the face with cotton balls, before going to bed, moisturizes and tightens the skin.
